Our training data of mosquito sounds, and all subsequent data generated within this study will be open access and made available to the wider research community on this page. Currently our database contains over 3500 recordings of individual wild captured mosquitoes from Thailand, Indonesia, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Six genera (Aedes, Anopheles, Armigeres, Coquillettidia, Culex and Mansonia) of mosquitoes are represented which include five dominant Asian malaria vector species (An. barbirostris, An. dirus, An. harrisoni, An. maculatus, An. minimus) as well as African vectors (An. gambiae, An. arabiensis, An. funestus, An. pharoensis). Focus has been on the anophelines as these are the genera responsible for transmitting human malaria, but we also include the other species commonly encountered during anopheline surveys.
